This pet-friendly property has a spectacular frontline setting overlooking the beautiful sands and golf course of the West Bay in North Berwick, ideal for dog walks during your stay. Sleeps up to 12 guests.

Set yards off the 18th fairway on the West Links and a minute's walk from the 1st tee the property reveals breathtaking panoramic views that take in the golf course, beach, offshore islands and Fife coast across the water.

In a previous era, it formed the main part of the Pointgarry House Hotel and has hosted golf pros across the decades. The space retains all of its period features, generous room dimensions and sometimes quirky charm. This is a cosy yet spacious home from home that gives you the chance to relax and mix with your fellow guests in a versatile way that suits your group.

For beach lovers and dog walkers there is access to the beach a few yards from the back door. Turn left and you have miles of unspoiled sands that run for miles towards Fidra Island, turn right and the independent shops, bars and restaurants of the High Street are a few minutes walk away. No need for taxis or designated drivers here. Beyond that lies the stunning East Bay beach, Glen Golf Club and many more miles of coast to explore.

The sea-facing rooms offer a great vantage point to watch the golfers tee off at the first hole and take on the tricky eighteenth green. Hours of free entertainment if that’s your thing.

Alternatively, the changing of the tides, waves crashing on the harbour walls when the weather gets exciting and expansive views are entertainment enough. A perfect antidote for those just wanting to wind down, read or just find some space to relax or do some work if you need to. The inclusive WiFi gives you options.

Two wood burning stoves in the property give you the chance to create a special atmosphere during the autumn and winter months. Perfect for a romantic or cosy night in with the shutters closed.

There are four local restaurants mentioned in the Michelin guide including Osteria which is a short walk from the house on North Berwick high street.

The accommodation is super versatile which makes it ideal for family get-togethers, golfing parties or friendship groups to gather in a beautiful and convenient setting. The main bedroom on the ground floor can be used as a family room and easily takes two single beds along with the super king double.

As you enter the front door with its high ceilings and calm lighting you get a sense of what is to come. A look up the stairs gives a glimpse of the seaweed wallpaper feature wall on the half landing.

The main lounge and two ground floor bedrooms lead off the ground floor hallway. Through another door is the lounge diner which connects to a back door/utility area before you reach a good sized kitchen which has views to the golf course, harbour, town and Bass Rock.

Bedroom 1 ground floor
An impressive and spacious bedroom with ensuite bath and separate shower, Relaxing green tones and a super king bed with a view out to the front courtyard garden. A stunning moulded ceiling with latin inscriptions complete the look. Two additional single beds available.

Bedroom 2 (or second lounge) ground floor
A cosy panelled room painted smoky green with a double bed, terrestrial TV and feature moulded ceiling. This room can be used as a second lounge and benefits from the warmth and coziness provided by a wood burning stove. Views onto the courtyard garden. W.C across the hallway and shared use of the shower/W.C on the first-floor landing.

Bedroom 3
A bright first-floor room with an ensuite bath and shower combination. The bed is a zip and link super-king so can be set up as a large double bed or two full-size twin beds.

Bedroom 4
A beautiful and spacious room on the first floor with 'wow' views overlooking the golf course, main beach and west bay. It features a double bed and two large linen sofas – perfect for lounging. Wooden shutters with original paint on the inner faces complete the look to give the room a balanced classic and contemporary feel. Shower and W.C located just across the first floor carpeted hallway.

Bedroom 5
A first-floor twin bedroom. A decent size, bright and with twin beds this room has an ensuite shower and W.C. Overlooks the courtyard garden.

Lounge Diner
On the ground floor, another room with a great view of the west bay. The dining table is set in the window so you can take in the stunning surroundings as you enjoy your meals. An additional trestle table is stored in the utility area to enable you to create a table for 12 with a little rearrangement of the sofas.

There are two large sofas and a wall mounted TV which has an associated NOW TV account. Guests are welcome to use their own firestick or other HDMI devices.

Working shutters also feature in this room with the original paint retained on the inner faces.

Kitchen Diner
The fully equipped kitchen includes an oversize Bertazzoni oven, 5 gas burner stove, large integrated fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. There is also an oak dining table that seats up to six people.

Courtyard Garden
The courtyard garden on the West Bay Road side of the house is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. In the summer and warmer months it is a real suntrap and is peppered with a variety of interesting plants and containers.

You are welcome to bring one well behaved dog as we understand if your dog is one of the family you will want to bring them! There is a small charge of £30.00 per booking.

About the area

A short half hour train ride from the city of Edinburgh, East Lothian, the golfer’s paradise, isn’t called Scotland’s Golf Coast without good reason. This is home to some of the world’s greatest links, including the largest concentration of Championship courses anywhere in the world, such as Muirfield, The Renaissance Club, Gullane, and North Berwick which is literally on your doorstep. East Lothian has an incomparable selection of courses to suit golfers of all standards.

North Berwick railway station is a five minute walk from the property.

Tantallon and Dirleton Castles are a short drive away.

East Links Family Park - a family-friendly park with animal enclosures, train rides, go-karts, bouncy castle, fort, and much more. A 20 min drive at Dunbar.
