About the space

The cottage is in the heart of Seacliff Estate and a short, woodland walk will take you to the charming Seacliff Beach. Recently refurbished the cottage offers a superb base for a family holiday or a get away for a group of couples. The accommodation comprises a large, dining kitchen, a very large, bright drawing room with a log burning stove and piano. This peaceful room also enjoys views and direct access to the private garden at the rear of the property. Also downstairs is an additional living room or Snug, a bedroom with the flexibility of a king or twin beds, a family bathroom and a utility and laundry room. Upstairs the master bedroom enjoys views of the garden from the window seat, the 3rd bedroom has a double bed, whilst the 4th bedroom again has the flexibility of a zip link bed so can be set up as a king or a twin. In addition there is a shower room upstairs.

A sheltered, sun trap of a garden is perfect for a BBQ or just to enjoy the peace, tranquillity and the sound of nature that surrounds.

The property is also complemented with full heating and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a garage with safe storage for bikes and surfboards and your four legged friends are also welcome to join you in Seapink Cottage (maximum of 2). To sum up, Seapink Cottage ticks all the boxes to allow you to enjoy a fun and relaxing getaway, with all your special people, whatever your interests or whatever the weather.

There are 2 lounges to enjoy at Seapink Cottage. The large, light lounge with log burning stove and access to the garden is big enough for the whole party to enjoy time together but the cosy snug is perfect for the kids to cuddle up and enjoy a movie or somewhere to enjoy some peace and quiet and get lost in a book. There are large comfortable sofas in both rooms.

There is a well equipped, large dining kitchen with all mod cons including a dishwasher and a large table to all enjoy meals together. There is a utility room, to kick off your sandy shoes and wash and dry the swimming towels for the next day’s beach fun.

Please note we do not provide hypoallergenic bedding at our properties.

Charming country cottage


About the area

Seacliff Cottage on Seacliff estate enjoys access to the beach which whilst in private ownership is open to the public. There is a small charge to drive and park there. However, Seapink Cottage is an easy 5 minute walk.

The beach car park also houses a handy loo for beach goers to use, a narrow path winds down from the car park area to the beach. The beach offers a wide stretch of clean, golden sand and plenty of interesting ruins. The views are quite simply breathtaking.

Notable features include Bass Rock which rises spectacularly out of the sea immediately opposite the beach. Behind the beach, hidden amongst the trees, lie the ruins of 18th century Seacliff House which was destroyed by fire in 1907. The house façade remains. Interestingly the windows in the lounge and master bedroom of Seapink Cottage were rescued and re-purposed in the cottage renovation. Various outbuildings belonging to the Seacliff house were used as a secret naval base during the First World War and in the dense woodland behind the beach it might be possible to make out the remains of 16th century Auldhame Castle.

The beach has an amazing, tiny harbour, said to be the smallest in the entire United Kingdom. It was carved out of the sandstone rock and is a fine example of late 19th century engineering. The harbour, which hardly has room for more than three small boats, is accessed via a narrow channel; also well worth taking a look at. Beyond the harbour lies the magnificent ruins of Tantallon Castle, perched on top of the cliffs.

The beach is used by surfers, dog walkers, riders and local families. Infact, Seacliff Stables is also based in the estate which offers horse riding through the estate and on to the Beach – a must for anyone keen on horses and ponies and a real special memory to take home from your holiday.

Quite simply, Seacliff is an ideal spot for a day out and with a picnic. Children will love playing in the sand and hunting for marine wildlife in the rock pools.
